Privacy policy
How the details you give us are handled.
This policy explains what this site collects, why, where it is kept and who receives it. It follows the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). Last updated 26 October 2026.
Who is responsible
This site is operated by SensingNet Limited (傳感網有限公司), a company incorporated in Hong Kong (company number 77948556) with its registered office at Unit A7, 12/F, Astoria Building, 34 Ashley Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong. For the personal data collected through this site, SensingNet Limited is the data user.
What we collect
Through the contact form: your name, company, work email, country or region, the role you choose and your message. Through the MeterMap founding-owner sign-up: your company or individual name, work email, country or region, meter model, application and whether you are willing to publish readings. Through the buyer registration: your work email, country or region and the sites you want to see. Through the design-partner request: your name, company, work email, role, what you measure and which questions take your time. Through your visit: the technical data a web server records, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. Through cookies: the session and language cookies described on the cookies page. We do not ask for, and you should not send, sensitive personal data.
What we use it for
To reply to you; to organise the MeterMap founding group and the design-partner interviews you asked to join; to operate, secure and improve the site; and to meet legal obligations. We write to MeterMap sign-ups about MeterMap and to design partners about the interviews, and not otherwise. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for direct marketing without your consent.
Where it is kept and who receives it
Everything you send is stored on systems in Hong Kong operated by SensingNet Limited. Service providers that host or maintain the site may process data on our instructions. If you ask us to pass a question to a measurement brand, we do so and tell you when we do. We do not transfer personal data to anyone else unless the law requires it.
What MeterMap will publish
Signing up as a founding owner publishes nothing. When the platform opens, you will see exactly what a listing shows, choose photos only or readings too, and agree before anything goes public; you can withdraw at any time. A separate notice for the platform will describe this in full.
How long we keep it
Contact records are kept while the conversation or customer relationship is active and for up to three years after the last contact, unless a longer period is required by law or by a contract with you. MeterMap and design-partner sign-ups are kept until the programme they belong to starts and for one year after our last contact if you do not take part. Server logs are kept for ninety days. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Under the Ordinance you may ask for access to the personal data we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected. Send your request through the contact form or by post to the registered office above, marked "Data access request"; we respond within forty days. You may also ask us to delete what you sent; we will do so unless we have to keep it.
Security
Access to what you send is limited to the staff of SensingNet Limited who handle it, each with their own account. Connections to the site are encrypted, backups are stored in Hong Kong, and the site is checked and updated by its operator.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes; the date above shows the current version. Questions about this policy go to SensingNet Limited through the contact form, by email, or to the registered office.
